It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Where has the time gone???? This year is almost over, and it seems as though it just started yesterday.  We are very busy preparing for the Christmas week ahead with school parties, work parties, and bunches of gift wrapping.  Lawson wakes up every morning to see if it is Christmas yet.  Pete the elf arrived the Friday after Thanksgiving to get an early start on inspecting Lawson's behavior to report back to Santa.  So far Pete seems to be pretty satisfied with Lawson.  Lawson and Liam have gone to see Santa to tell him what they want this year.  You can find their lists below.
Lawson's Christmas 2010 list
a real big bike like Cole's
a 4 wheeler that cranks (not a 'mote one)
a little Fatman (better known as Batman)
new fast running shoes
Christmas socks
a bull dozier

Liam's Christmas 2010 list
anything I can chew on to help ease these teeth
new fast crawling shoes
an ab lounger to work on this big belly
big boy toys like my brother
more BB time (my mom thinks she can wean me but she's crazy)

Liam will be crawling really soon!

My silly boy!

One of the pictures we took for the Christmas card. (Next year I will shut the bedroom door and try to center the photo much better....you live and learn.)

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS!

Say hello to Barkley Fortner!

Barkley is a Bullboxer (1/2 American Bulldog and 1/2 Boxer) and the newest member of the Fortner family! We welcomed Barkley into the family in November.  Lawson was so excited to get a puppy, and Liam just laughs at him all the time.  He is a sweet puppy and has added a great aspect to this household.  He is a very smart boy already, but we are pretty sure he is deaf.  The white color is a recessive gene and being deaf usally comes along with it. I did some research and learned some of the common hand signs to use with him so that we can train him well even though he is deaf.  We have high hopes that he will be a good family dog even with his disability.  We will love him just as much as we would have if he could hear!

Down...set...Halloween!

Being the football fanatics that we are, Andy and I thought it would fit us perfectly if we dressed our little bambinos as a football player and a football for Halloween so that's exactly what we did!  They were the cutest football player and football we've ever seen too!  They had many opportunities to wear their costumes between their Harvest carnival at daycare on Friday, Trunk or Treat at our church on Saturday night, and then for Trick-or-Treating in Oxford on Sunday night.  Lawson probably should have played with his team Saturday at Vaught Hemingway stadium because they seemed to be lacking a player or two by the way that they played against Auburn.  Hotty Toddy!

Liam's first Halloween!

This was the best picture I could get of the two of them!

A Fiddlin' fun time!

Last weekend we took a trip to the Fiddlin Rooster pumpkin patch and corn maze in Water Valley.  Andy's brother and his family went along also.  All the boys had a fantastic time!  I can't wait for next year so that Liam can join in the fun.

Liam starts eating solids!

Liam Asher is now 5 months old so he began eating baby food a couple of weeks ago.  His pediatrician recommended that I start him a little early on solids since he's "a big boy"!  He was so excited the first time I brought out the spoon and food. It was the funniest thing so of course I had to get lots of pictures!  These are a few from his first baby food experience.  Butternut squash is so far his favorite vegetable and pears are his favorite fruit!  He is such a sweet baby, and he loves watching his big brother Lawson play and jump around the house! I can't wait until they are closer in age so that they can play together!

Lawson's 3rd birthday bash!

We celebrated Lawson's 3rd birthday with a huge Spiderman party at our house!  He was so excited to see all his friends from school there!  I can't believe my baby is 3 years old!!  We got Lawson a John Deere gator, and he was thrilled!  We also celebrated my 26th birthday on October 8, but my party was not near as much fun as Lawson's was! :)  More posts to come on other October happenings!

Two are certainly better than one!

We are so excited about our expanded family, and I would say that we have all adjusted well including big brother Lawson. Liam is now 3 months old, and he is a great baby! We really couldn't have asked for a better one. He is sleeping through the night most nights, and only cries when he's hungry or sleepy. He is a great eater, and breastfeeding is going great thus far. I love being the mommy to two precious boys, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for this family of FOUR! God has truly blessed us, and we are so thankful! Lawson will soon be 3 years old so we are busy planning his big Spiderman (his request) birthday party! It is so hard to believe that my big boy will soon be 3! It seems like yesterday that he was Liam's size. My how they grow up fast! Lawson got to go to his first Ole Miss football game Saturday, and he had a blast! He loves football, and any type of ball for that matter. He is going to be a very atheletic little boy once he is old enough to play sports. He has always been extremely coordinated with kicking and throwing balls so I'm sure we will spend many nights at soccer, football, and baseball fields watching him play! I can't wait to see what Liam will enjoy playing when he is older too!

And baby makes four!!!

We welcomed the fourth member to the Fortner family on May 27, 2010. Liam Asher was born at 7:05 AM and weighed 8 lbs 14 oz and was 21 inches long. He was more beautiful than we could ever have imagined! Big brother Lawson was in love just as Andy and I were. We were so excited when we got to bring him home. Life has been on fast forward since Liam was born. Now Liam is 7 weeks old and weighs a little over 12 lbs according to our scales at home. He is a pretty good sleeper...only waking to eat and get a diaper change. We stay busy around here, and I'd say we've all adjusted quite well to having another member in the family. Lawson has done very well sharing the spot light, but he still has his moments when he doesn't like sharing mommy or daddy's attention and acts out so that we will discipline him so he's got all of our attention on him. It's all to be expected. I could never have dreamed how happy I'd be being a mommy to two precious boys! I can't wait to see what the next year holds for us. Liam is starting to develop a little personality and is beginning to coo and "talk". It is so sweet seeing Lawson interact with Liam and try to teach Liam how to do things like jump off the furniture and how to say the Pledge of Allegiance. It is the best thing in the whole world seeing my two boys together! I can't wait until Liam is big enough to really play with his big brother, Lawson. Until next time...

32 weeks and a 2 1/2 year old!!!

So a lot has happened in the Fortner house since my last blog! We've gotten closer to meeting the newest member of our team, said goodbye to our best 4 legged friend, and watched as our big boy, Lawson, has matured into a little boy. We have had so many blessings over the past several months, and we look forward to so many more in the near future!
I went to the doctor last Friday, and we were able to get a 4D sonogram and see baby Liam Asher in real life mode! It was unbelievable how real he did look, and we could already see he has a lot of hair! According to the sonogram, he weighs 4 lbs and 3 oz already, and the EDD is 5/23/10. His big brother Lawson is so excited, and asks me often when we are going to the hospital to pick up Liam or "Lemmy" as he calls him.
I look forward to meeting this new baby boy, and most of all I look forward to getting to see the precious relationship my two boys will have! God is so good and continues to provide for us in ways we could never imagine! (I will post pictures soon as we are finally getting wireless at home.)
Until next time...
