My two best friends and their moms along with my mom and I had a girl's night out last Saturday night. We ate at Boure' and watched THE HELP. It was such fun, and the movie was the best I've seen in a while. We had all 6 read the book so we were really anticipating watching the movie. I can't wait for our next girl's night out!

On your mark, get set, go!

So this past Friday night I ran my FIRST ever 5k. It was the Rowan Oak 5k that is put on by The University. I have been training for the past 8 weeks with a few girls from work, and we were planning on our first race being in November, but I heard about this one and thought we should give it a shot. I finished it in 35 minutes...3 minutes shy of my goal so I was pretty happy. I was number 10 in my age group so for my first race I'd say I did quite well, right? I am looking forward to my next race. A year ago of you'd told me I would be running a 5k I would've laughed....but here I am running for fun and not just because I'm being chased.
